These series are formal explorations of various painting techniques. Visually inspired by turn-of-the-century Secessionist artists like Gustav Klimt, they investigate the interplay between design, abstract mark-making, and traditional indirect rendering of form. I also incorporate a surreal visual language to communicate private, contemplative narratives. These ongoing bodies of work evolved from my informal mixed-media studies.
